Tower cranes are a common fixture at any major construction site. They're pretty hard to miss — they often rise hundreds of feet into the air and can reach out just as far. The construction crew uses the tower crane to lift steel, concrete, large tools like acetylene torches and generators, and a wide variety of other building materials.
There are mainly three mechanisms: hoisting mechainism controls the hook up and down. Trolleying mechanism controls the trolley forward and backward and slewing mechanism makes the tower crane rotate at 540 degrees.
A trolley in the working jib that holds the lift cable moves along the jib to help carry the equipment. The operator rides in a cabin at the intersection of jib and Tower to operate it.
